Liverpool have been linked with a possible £12million swoop for West Ham striker Frederic Kanoute.

The Telegraph and others are expected to run reports tomorrow that Houllier has already opened transfer talks for the talented striker - more than 4 weeks after the Kop Talk Insider claimed he'd been offered to us by an agent.

Kop Talk sources insist that the Reds are sniffing around Kanoute, a player that Houllier has previously failed in trying to sign. We are led to believe that rumours that Anelka's brothers are getting in the way of a proposed deal may be leaked to create a smokscreen (more on the Insider) as people will naturally expect them to be responsible.
